Also known as Queensland-Flaschenbaum, Narrowleaf Bottle Tree, Kurrajong
A super hardy Australian native tree that is also extremely versatile and attractive.
A medium sized variety of tree that will usually grow to approximately 12 to 18 metres in height when mature.
It has beautiful flowers, seed pods, bark and leaves.
The semi-cascading leaves are 10 to 15cm long and are quite diverse in their shape, ranging from the thin semi-serrated to having 3 to 9 fingers.
New leaves are tinged pink and then darken as they mature.
Beautiful bell-shaped orchid-like flowers that are approximately 15mm across, white to pink with pink dots, formed in clusters.
The flowers of this native attract birds, butterflies and nectar eaters to your garden.
Has the ability to store water and nutrients in its roots and trunk.
Frost tolerant to at least minus 6 once established.
Will look after themselves once established.
Will tolerate low rainfall once established, as little as 300mm per annum, but will also grow well in quite wet conditions as long as drainage is good.
Often used councils and parks due to their hardiness.
Great additions for xeriscape gardens.
Provides great shade in Summer.
Highly adaptable.
Will grow in a wide range of soils, from sandy to clay.
Full sun to semi shade.
You can plant them under tall gums as long as it is not a deep shaded position.
Great borders, native gardens, driveways, or containers/pots, bonsai, edging, farms, gardens, paddocks, streetscapes as they look great, give good shade and look after themselves.
Will also grow in quite windy and coastal areas.
Can be grown as bonsai.
