Korean Box Hedge x 1
Buxus microphyllia koreana
Also known as Korean Boxwood

Considered by many to be the hardiest of the boxwoods.

Clips, prunes and hedges well.

Faster growing than English Box.

Height: can be grown and maintained at any height between 60cm tall.

Width: to approximately 1.5metres wide if left untrimmed.

Grows wider than high, enabling them to be used as great groundcovers, low/small hedges and border plants.

Its lighter green accents are often utilised amongst the darker colours of a garden.

Can be used to create beautiful windswept bonsai plants.

Handles both the heat and the cold of various parts of Australia.

Is quite shade tolerant too.

Frost tolerant to at least minus 12 degrees.

Will grow in coastal and pollution-affected areas.

Widely used as garden hedges, pruned into decorative shapes (topiary), bonsai, pots, standards, formal and informal plantings.

Foliage: Slightly pendulous, enabling gentle cascades. Elongated oval dark to light lime green leaves, with Winter often seeing a dispersal of reds, oranges, yellows and browns.

Smaller leaves than Japanese Box.

Flowers: small white aromatic flowers.

Planting guide: plant at a distance of 80% of what you want your hedge's final height to be (e.g. plant 80cm apart for a 100cm tall hedge, plant 40cm apart for a 50cm tall hedge etc).
