A strong and vigorous variety that make great specimens interplanted through gardens, as well as grown in large pots or as espaliers against fences or in small gardens.

Will form a good shape by themselves, or you can trim and train them to your desired growth requirements.

Can be cut back hard in late Autumn, and they will reshoot in Spring.

They make great dried flowers.

Position: A moist position in either full shade or semi-shade.

Foliage: Beautiful leaves that are bronze when young, then change to deep red in Autumn.
Deciduous. Often grown for their foliage structures.

Flowers: Blossom clusters up to 25cm across.

Height and width: Approx 1 to 1.5 metres.

Important Information

Acid levels in the soil will greatly determine the flower colour of this Hydrangea variety. Acid soils bring out the blues and purples. Alkaline soils bring out pinks to reds. The Majority of soils in Australia are acidic. To increase acid levels in your soil you can add aluminium sulphate and this brings out the intense blues of the variety. For greater alkalinity please add lime. This need to be done before blooms form.

We usually have 5 to 10 types of Hydrangea in stock, both lacecap and mophead varieties.
