Lomandra confertifolia / conferta

Also known as Dwarf Mat Rush

A perennial native grass that will grow across Australia.
 
Low maintenance once established.
 
Drought, frost and snow hardy.
 
Able to tolerate both the cold and humidity found in different parts of the country.
 
Can be used for erosion control as they have a fibrous root system, which helps to stabilise and hold soil together.
 
Can survive for a few days being submerged due to flooding.
 
Used by parks, councils etc due to their hardiness and versatility.
 
Attracts birds and butterflies.
 
Often used in floral arrangements.
 
Great for borders, rockeries, rows, xeriscaping, native gardens, mass and scattered plantings etc.
 
Position: Full sun to quite shady positions. Heavy clay to sandy soils.

Foliage: Tight, lime green leaves. Evergreen.

Flowers: Fragrant cream flower spikes in Spring and Summer.
