Also known as Japanese Rose, Japanese Kerria

Double Kerria Family: Rosaceae  

A long lasting, classic perennial originating from Asia.

Thornless and deciduous.

Able to go for quite long periods without watering once established.

Frost tolerant.

Can be pruned mildly or really hard after flowering.

Can be trained to grow up against walls, up fences, kept low etc.

Great for borders, hanging gardens, topiary, standards, pots, mass and scattered plantings, embankments etc.

Full sun to quite shady positions. 

Able to grow in a wide range of soils.

Ornamental ridged and serrated leaves that start off light, then darken to a bright green.

Rushes into growth as Winter fades and Spring warmth arrives.

Soft golden/deep yellow double flowers up to 3cm across. Flowers in Spring.
