This variety prefers those moist to wet spots in garden. But like most Australian native plants, they are highly adaptable and have a good drought tolerance.

In dry areas, mulch well and keep lightly to very moist to get best results.

Can be cut back hard.

Will usually recover fast and well after bushfires.

This variety has been grown from seed.

Banksias in general do not like fertilisers high in phosphorus.
Use native plants fertilisers.

Flower cones 10-20cm in length, ranging from yellow/gold through to orange, red and brown.

A long flowering season, from Autumn to Spring.

Flowers are excellent for floral arrangements.

Evergreen.

Can be hedged and screened. 

Prune if you want to to maintain dense growth.

 Will attract birds and nectar eaters to your garden.

 Full sun to semi shade.

 Drought and quite frost tolerant once established.
