Drought, wind and salt tolerant.
Frost tolerant to around minus 7 degrees.
Useful for erosion control purposes as they have fibrous soil-binding roots.
Can be used as a fast hedge, screening, windbreaks, street trees or ornamental plantings.

Foliage: Evergreen. Has been reported to be useful as animal fodder for livestock.
