We often cut them back to 5-10cm in the cold dormant months of the year.
Pale pink to salmong pink flowers in neutral to alkaline soils.
Vibrant green seratted foliage.
Adding dolomite or a light touch of lime to your soil will help keeping them pink.
To get soft blue flowers, increase your soils acidic levels.
There are many pages online on how to bring out the pinks, reds and blues of your hydrangea :- )

Important Information
The Acid levels in the soil will help determine the flower colour of this hydrangea variety.
To bring out the blues, lilacs and purples, please add lime(carefully) or for a more relaxed attempt please use of dolomite .
Neutral to alkaline soils bring out the reds and pinks.
Acidic ph levels will help to bring oout the blue tones.
This need to be done before blooms form.
Or you can just simply plant them straight into the soil and just let the natural soil ph levels determine colours.
We work hard to try and ensure our notes on the variety/varieties listed are true and correct, but do not accept any responsibility for errors or information that may have occured either by my staff or or myself.
