The following notes apply roughly to all varieties

Beautiful small trees that produce great fruit and fragrant flowers.

A great addition to nearly every garden.

Citrus trees also make great hedges.
You can plant multiple types in a hedge.

Frost hardy to around minus 5 degrees.
(In colder districts, plant them in a protected position.)

The first fruits will appear at around the 3-year mark, with an increase in production with maturity.

Will form a good shape by themselves, or can be trimmed and trained to your desired requirements.

Can be cut back hard, and will regrow.

For optimum fruit production, feed and water in the same manner as you would plums, apples etc.

Great specimens interplanted throughout gardens, large pots, espaliers against fences etc.

Full sun to semi-shade.

Lime green leaves with purple tinges when young, then maturing to deep green.

Often grown for their foliage structures as well as their fruit.

Flowers: Similar in all varieties, with a sweet citrus scent.

Maintenance: Remove flowers and buds before the 3-year mark to encourage faster growth of the plants.

Eureka Lemon Citrus limon
'Eureka Lemon Trees',
'Garey's Eureka'

The most widely grown lemon in Australia and in many other parts of the world.

Thought to have originated in Los Angeles, USA.

A great cropping variety that will usually have some fruit all year round.

Many Winter cropping, with 1-2 small croppings in warmer coastal areas through Spring and Summer.

Nearly thornless, open growing structure.

Will grow well both in pots and in the ground.

Glossy maroon new growth that contrasts well amongst the greens.

Fruit: Early fruiting. High juice and acid content.

Flowers: Sweetly scented white/cream blossoms.

Height: Approx 3 metres.

Lisbon Lemon Trees
Citrus limon
'Lisbon'

Similar to Eureka, yet a taller growing form of lemon.

Produces many kilos of fruit per year once established.

Meyer Lemon Trees

Citrus x meyeri 'Meyer'

Native to China.

Thought to be a cross between a true lemon and either a mandarin or common orange.

 Foliage: Dark, shiny leaves.

Fruit: Yellow and rounder than a true lemon.

Fragrant, thin skin with a slight orange tinge when ripe.

Sweeter, less acidic flavour than other varieties.

Flowers: Fragrant white flowers with purple bases.

Height: Approx 2-3 metres (can be pruned smaller).

Tahitian Lime Trees

A seedless lime that is heavy fruiting.

Great for cooking and juice.
