Fast growing native shrubs/small trees that are an excellent habitat for native birds, butterflies etc.
The dense/tight prickly foliage helps protect small birds such as blue wrens and willie wagtails from predators, whilst also creating a safer place for them to build their nests.
Good drought and frost tolerance.
Useful for erosion control purposes as they have fibrous soil-binding roots.
Can be used for lower screening, windbreaks, shrubs or ornamental plantings.
Full sun to semi-shade.
Erect shrubs that grow to approx 3 metres tall.
