Awabuki Viburnum odoratissimum are very similar to Sweet Viburnum odoratissimum, except that their foliage is much more glossed and able hold moisture longer. This makes them hardier.
One of the most popular scented flowering shrubs/small trees around the world.
Fast growing, pretty and they smell magnificent.
Also popular as quite fast growing hedging/screening plants
Clusters of fragrant white flowers in Spring to Summer that develop into red/purple to black berries.
If you want to hedge them, pinch out the new growing tip after every time they grow around 15cm as they will then send out two new shoots when you do this. This encourages sideways growth and density.
Grow to approx 3-5 metres high and 2-3 metres wide
Full sun to light shade.
Quite frost and drought tolerant once established.
