Camellia sasanqua

Sasanqua camellias have a higher tolerance to sunlight which enables them to grow in positions that would often leave most japonica camellia sunburnt.

They can also grow in quite shaded positions.

Light soft pink semi double flowering variety with deep green mid sized lightly serrated glossed leaves.

These are an early flowering form of camellia.

Will grow to approximately 3 to 4 metres tall or they can be trimmed and trained from any height of around 40cm onwards.

Camellias are very frost resistant.

Do not add lime to the soil as they like acidic soil.

Many uses: Mixed borders, hedging, privacy screens, scattered plantings, pots/containers, topiary, bonsai etc. If you would like them to grow into a denser shrub, just give them a feed and a light trim after flowering.

They work well scattered or massed around you garden.

Often used to add height contrast and color to gardens.

Evergreen

Great cut flowers, feature plantings, borders, screening, pots, tubs, veranda, balcony, scattered plantings, mass plantings. If you would like them to grow into a denser shrub, just give them a feed and a light trim after flowering.

We have both the sasanqua varieties (which can grow in full sun to quite shady) as well as the camellia japonica forms (that grow best in places that are protected from the afternoon sun, especially in the summer).

We usually have a broad mixture of pinks, reds, purple, yellows and whites available in both Camellia sasanquas and camellia japonica at the following Link:
