Leaves with cuneate to angular-obovate or narrow-obovate leaves 1.2 – 3 cm long and 4 – 9 mm wide.

Hardy native shrubs that are attractive in their natural form, or are often used as a native hedge.
 
Drought resistant once established. Will grow in Australia's hot summers.
 
Frost resistant.
 
Will grow in coastal areas.
 
Able to re-sprout from its base when cut back.
 
A great hedge due to its ability to grow thick and tight when cut back.
 
Works well in scattered plantings, as a contrasting border, as windbreaks and as hedges.
 
Position: Full sun to semi-shade.
 
Will grow in most soil types.
(If drainage is poor, raise beds by 15cm with sandy loam topsoil.)
 
Evergreen glossy leaves.

Brilliant red-winged seed capsules.
 
Yellow/orange/red flowers in late  Spring
 
Dioecious (male and female flowers on separate plants).
 
Height: Approx 2-3 metres.

Widespread native shrubs in inland districts.
