Euonymus Tom Thumb

Euonymus japonicus microphyllus

Also known as
Japanese Spindle,
Box Leaf Euonymus

They grow similar in shape and leaf structure to English box but grow faster.

Low maintenance, low growing hedging or edging which can give a formal touch to gardens.
 
Recognised as a great border variety grown throughout the world.
 
A tough variety that copes in drier regions.  L low watering once established.
 
Frost hardy and long living.
 
Will grow in coastal areas.
 
Not prone to woodiness and has a non-aggressive root system.
 
Great for formal or informal hedging, bonsai, topiary, scattered plantings etc.
 

Position: Full sun to semi-shade. Will thrive in most soil conditions.

Foliage: Dark green glossy and dense leaves that help to highlight and contrast amongst other varieties throughout your garden.

Height: Approx 65-75cm. Easily maintained as a hedge at any height from 15cm upwards.

Can be trimmed regularly to suit your needs, or left to run into its natural shape.

Planting guide: 
Plant 10-20% closer together than you want the hedge height to be, e.g. plant 20cm apart for a 25cm tall hedge, plant 40cm apart for a 50cm tall hedge etc.
