Purple Hopbush
Dodonaea viscosa purpurea
Family: Sapindaceae
Position: Full sun to semi-shade. Will grow in most soil types. (If drainage is poor, raise beds by 15cm with topsoil.)
Its best purple colour is produced when in full sun.
Foliage: Evergreen glossy leaves. Brilliant red-winged seed capsules.
Flowers: Papery flowers in late Winter, Spring and Summer. Dioecious (male and female flowers on separate plants).
Height: Approx 2-4 metres.
