The prolific yellow flowers form usually from April to November.
Although this variety is widely recognised as a popular bush tucker plant, I always recommend that you do your own research to ascertain it's suitability for your culinary and medicinal purposes.
There is extensive material available online that sees its flowers, buds and tips used as salad, jam, fritters, spinach etc as an edible plant.
Can be left to themselves, or trimmed and trained into desired shape.
Does not like high humidity.
Mild frost tolerance.
Drought resistant.
Beautiful in floral arrangements.
Position: Full sun to light shade. Ensure they are not planted in swampy areas.
Foliage: Beautiful dark green leaves.
Flowers: Profusely in Spring and Summer, with sporadic flowering at other times.
Height and width: Approx 3-4 metres.
