Lion's Tail White x 1
Leonotis leonurus alba
Also known as Wild Dagga Lion's Paw, Lion's Ear
This is the first time in years I have been able to get these.
Not to be mistaken for Leonotis nepetaefolia which is a noxious weed in parts of Australia.
Perennial evergreen garden plants with stunning orange flowers that are framed by mid to dark green aromatic foliage.
Great colour for your garden as well as making beautiful cut flowers for floral arrangements. The actual flower and seed cases are also widely sought after as long-lasting additions to floral arrangements.
Being perennial, this plant will last for years.
Fast growing.
Quite hardy once established.
Mild frost resistance.
Heat tolerant.
Will also grow in coastal areas.
Attracts birds and butterflies.
Great for rockeries, borders, scattered and mass plantings, uneven ground, embankments, cottage gardens etc.
To encourage extra flowering, trim them back after they have finished flowering or pinch out spent buds. Cut them back to around 10-15cm tall in Autumn and they will run new flowers the next Spring and Summer.
You can trim them back quite hard when they get bigger, give them a feed and good watering and they will regrow fast.
Full sun to semi-shade.
Height: approx 1 metre.
Width: approx 80cm.
Not for Western Australia, Northern Territory or Tasmania
