Blackbird Penstemons are amongst the hardiest of the Penstemon cultivars.    

Low maintenance bushy upright perennials with a profusion of large pink/purple tubular flowers and mid to darker green foliage.

Great colour for your garden as well as making beautiful cut flowers for arrangements.

Grows to approximately 50 to 70cm high.    

Spreads to approximately 45 to 60cm wide.    

Being perennial means that this plant will last for years.

Just cut them back to around 10-15cm tall in late Autumn and they will flower in Summer through to Autumn.

They are all quite hardy once established.

Fast growing.

You can trim them quite hard and they will grow back.

Frost hardy to minus 6.

Full sun to semi shade.

Great for rockeries, borders, scattered plantings, mass plantings, uneven ground, embankments etc.

This variety will also grow in coastal areas.

Quite heat tolerant.    

Deer tolerant.
