Native to Australia, these groundcover plants with their colorful flowers, sweet and gentle perfume and their adaptability have made themselves very popular in gardens around the world.

Australian Native Violets Viola hederacea plants

A low growing round leaved groundcover that grows to around 5 to 10 cm high.

Grows best in shade to semi shade, out of the afternoon sun in summer.

Native violet will grow roots at leaf nodes in moist conditions which helps it to spread.  
 

Able to create a deep evergreen scented flowering ground cover in quite shaded to semi shaded areas.  
 

Great for under trees, shade houses, ferneries and those shady places down sides of houses etc.  
 

Herbal uses.   Please seek appropriate medical advise before killing yourself with herbs :-)  

 

Long flowering through spring to autumn.  

 

Quite Frost hardy.
 

Hardy once established

Long lasting evergreen perennial plants.
