Known herbally as 'Banafsa', 'Banafsha' or 'Banaksa' (according to Wikipedia)

Sweet Violet Viola odorata plants are known for the sweet scented flowers born above the mid green foliage.

Great for cascading down walls, tubs, hanging basket, uneven ground, embankments, rockeries, hiding unsightly bare spots etc.
 

 Though native to Europe and Asia, the colorful flowers with their sweet and gentle perfume have made these very popular in gardens around the world

This variety sells well due to its ability to create a deep evergreen flowering ground cover in quite shaded to semi shaded areas. Great for under trees, shade houses, ferneries and those shady places down sides of houses etc.

Long flowering through winter and spring with random flowers through summer and autumn.

Frost hardy.

Quite hardy once established

Long lasting evergreen perennial plants.

These plants thrive in most soil conditons.

They can also be container grown.

Long living, they can be left to grow to their full spread or easily contained by regular pruning.

We've found many sites on Google which state that the flowers are edible but we haven't tried this ourselves. Please seek appropriate advice before killing yourself with herbs
